The forum on intercity railway construction is held in Zhangjiagang City. The secretary of Party Group of Ministry of Transportation of Jiangsu Province cum office manager of Railway Bureau of Jiangsu Province Liu Dawang attends the forum.

Research institute made report on the implementation of leading and exploratory project of intercity railway along the river based on planning and designing idea, basic line route and site setting, listened to suggestions from related cities and reached a consensus on leading and exploratory project. The railway will pass through Zhangjiagang and set a station at Zhangjiagang.

It is known that the railway has been listed in 12th Five-year Plan Railway Construction and Developmentin Jiangsu Province and Intercity Rail Transportation Network Plan in Yangtze River Delta (compiled in 2010). As the breakthrough point of leading and exploratory project, the intercity railway starts from Changzhou city to Zhangjiagang city with design speed 200 kilometer/h, which is estimated to be built at the end of 2016 and completed at the end of 2016.
