April-Successfully conducted China’s first 1000kJ rockfall impact test featured by CCTV

January-Completed 1500kJ impact test, gaining expert recognition for testing methodologies

2016

May – The “OST Education Fund” was launched at Dongguang Shiai Primary School, demonstrating OST’s commitment to supporting education in rural areas.

June – 10,000 kJ curtain-type net test against blast-induced rockfall successfully completed.

June – OST India subsidiary established to support international market expansion.

November – 3,500 kJ barrier successfully passed full-scale impact testing.

2017

March – OST constructed China’s first flexible steel structure shed-tunnel for high-speed railway at the Zhifang Tunnel on the Xi’an–Chengdu High-Speed Railway. The project was featured in a special report on CCTV News.

April – OST participated in drafting China’s first national engineering technical standard for flexible protection structures: Technical Specification for Barrier Structures.

May – Leveraging the momentum of the Belt and Road Initiative, OST secured two major project orders in Malaysia.

June – Successfully completed a curtain-type net test for a large-scale (over 1,000 m³) blast-induced rockfall.

November – Co-hosted the 5th Cross-Strait Civil Engineering and Disaster Prevention Symposium with Southwest Jiaotong University.

2018

October – Participated in the review meeting for the draft submission of the Technical Specification for Rockfall Barrier Structures, a standard under the China Association for Engineering Construction Standardization.

October – Participated in the launch meeting for drafting the Technical Specification for Flexible Shed-Tunnel Structures.

2019

April – Participated in the founding meeting of the drafting group for the Technical Specification for Guiding Protection Net Structures, under the China Association for Engineering Construction Standardization.

June – Successfully conducted a full-scale in-situ test of the active energy-dissipating guiding net in collaboration with Southwest Jiaotong University at a mining site in Fuling District, Chongqing.

2020

February – Donated RMB 500,000 to the Red Cross Society of Sichuan Province in support of nationwide COVID-19 prevention efforts; also donated medical masks.

June – OST products were successfully applied in the Mauritius project of China Water Resources and Hydropower Ninth Engineering Bureau, earning international recognition.

November – The standard Flexible Protection Net System of Slope (JT/T 1328-2020), drafted by OST, was officially implemented on November 1, 2020.

2021

The Xi’an–Chengdu Railway project (Xi’an–Jiangyou section), partially constructed by China Railway No.5 Engineering Group and implemented by OST, was awarded the 18th China Civil Engineering Zhan Tianyou Award.

2022

January – The project Theory, Technology, and Application of Flexible Protection Systems for Dynamic Slope Geological Hazards, completed with OST’s involvement, received the First Prize of Science and Technology Award from the China Highway & Transportation Society.

MayThe research titled “Theory, Technology, and Application of Flexible Protection Systems for Dynamic Geological Hazards on Slopes”, in which OST participated, was awarded the First Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress by the China Highway & Transportation Society.

July – OST headquarters relocated to a new site, marking a new chapter in its development.

NovemberThe research on “Prevention Theory and Key Technologies for High-Level Rockfall Hazards,” completed with OST’s participation, was awarded the Science and Technology Award by the Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics and Engineering.

2023

JanuaryOST was appointed as a council member of the Second Governing Board of the National Engineering Research Center for Geohazard Prevention in Land Transportation; Mr. Yue Chao, General Manager of OST, was appointed as a board member.

JuneThe exhibition project “High-Performance Intelligent Flexible Protection Tunnel Shed,” Co-developed by OST and Southwest Jiaotong University, was awarded the Gold Medal at the 48th Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions.

August – OST actively participated in the emergency relief to the historic flood disaster in Beijing, receiving high recognition from the Ministry of Transport of the People’s Republic of China and China Railway Beijing Group.

DecemberOST won the First Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress in Engineering Construction.
