From November 3rd to 6th, the 19th China Rock Mechanics and Engineering Annual Academic Conference co-organised by the Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics & Engineering and International Consortium on Geo-disaster Reduction was held in Beijing. Xu Tinghao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Group of the China Association for Science and Technology, Academician He Manchao, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics & Engineering, and Academician Kang Hongpu, Member of the Party Committee and Vice Chairman, attended the opening ceremony of the conference. Three academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 14 academicians from the Chinese Academy of Engineering and 15 foreign academicians, professors and experts attended the conference via online.

On 6th November, the Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics & Engineering held the 13th Science and Technology Progress Award Ceremony. The project "Theory and Key Technology of High-level Collapse and Rockfall Protection" jointly completed by Sichuan OST Slope Protection Engineering Co.,Ltd, Southwest Jiaotong University, Southwest Jiaotong University Chengdu Design Institute Co.,Ltd, Sichuan Communication Surveying & Design Institute Co.,Ltd and Sichuan Highway Planning, Survey, Design and Research Institute Ltd. won the First Prize of Science and Technology Progress of the Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics & Engineering.
The project team of "Theory and Key Technology of High-level Collapse and Rockfall Protection" has conducted in-depth research on Dynamics of High-level Collapse and Rockfall disaster and Protection Design Theory and Technology through Field survey, Theoretical analysis, Numerical simulation, Large-scale physical model test, and achieved a number of innovative results, such as 33 authorised invention patents, 6 software copyrights, 2 industry standards, 2 group standards, 4 publishing monographs and 91 papers, including 38 SCI and 25 EI papers. The results have been successfully applied in thousands of projects at home and abroad, with remarkable socio-economic benefits and broad application prospects. On 26 April of this year, the Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics & Engineering held a Science and Technology Achievement Evaluation Conference, the "Theory and Key Technology of High-level Collapse and Rockfall Protection" won the "International Leading Level " evaluation.
Sichuan OST Slope Protection Engineering Co.,Ltd is one of the main members of the project "Theory and Key Technology of High-level and Collapse Rockfall Protection". For more than ten years, OSTS has always adhered to the original aspiration of "scientific research", and committed to the research and improvement of "Theory and Key Technology of High-level and Collapse Rockfall Protection". OSTS has invested huge amounts of research fund, set up a research team, established Asia's first full-scale impact test platform and a number of test and inspection equipment, and carried out hundreds of rockfall impact tests. It has conducted field high-level collapse tests such as Weining Rockfall and Collapse in Guizhou, Fuling Rockfall Dissipation in Chongqing, and Songlin Rockfall Guide in Guanghan, and obtained a lot of basic test data, which laid a solid foundation for the establishment of the "Theory and Key Technology of High-level Collapse and Rockfall Protection", filled a number of technical gaps in domestic rockfall protection, changed the current situation that backward rockfall protection technology is 60 years behind international,and realized a 60-year leap.
