Invited by Indian Society of Engineering Geology and IAEG Indian National Group, OST president Lv Hanchuan attended the international conference on “Engineering Geology in New Millennium” with IAEG China National Group from October 24th to October 30th in 2015.

IAEG, short for International Association for Engineering Geology and the Environment, is an international authority in engineering geology. IAEG holds an annual conference each year and a regional conference in Asia every two years, along with IAEG Ｅxecutive committee meeting and council meeting. The 2015 conference held in India aims at seeking a scientific approach to protect the environment and guarantee construction safety.  

During his visit to India, president Lv participated in the 50th anniversary celebration ceremony of Indian National Group and attended the international conference on engineering geology, exchanging ideas with global engineering-geological experts on hot issues of earth sciences like global environmental changes and relations between engineering geology and environment. As the acceleration of human engineering activity and urbanization process, human beings claim more resources and spaces from the earth,intriguing more and more unprecedented engineering-geological challenges and geological environmental issues. During the conference, president Lv discussed with Indian geological experts on the formation mechanism, control parameters and control measures of landslide for slope protection.

On the afternoon of 29th, enterprise representatives from China and India held talks on China’s policy of One Belt And One Road. President Lv discussed in-depth with India slope protection enterprises, exchanged opinions on slope protection thoughts and products, and made consensus on cooperation.

When staying in India, president Lv also provided guidance on the development of slope protection market in India, required OST India to expedite its recruitment process, improve and perfect market layout, and increase sales.

The 2015 conference deepened common understanding on the status quo of geological environment treatment in India, promoted exchanges and cooperation between Sino-India enterprises, further expanded the influence of OST in international slope protection field, and laid a solid foundation for OST to successfully enter into India market and set up factories in the near future.
