2023' Western Hydropower Forum was held in Chengdu on April 19th-21th, 2023. The forum was sponsored by China Hydropower Engineering Society and Science and Technology Department of Tibet, and led by Science and Technology Association of Tibet and Hydropower Engineering Society of Tibet. OST attended the forum as a co-organizer and discussed with more than 300 industry experts and representatives from domestic hydropower, survey and design, energy development and scientific research institutes about the development of hydropower in the west and the safety protection technology of hydropower projects.

The forum was revolved around the topics of multi-energy complementarity, engineering safety, new materials and ecological environment. In the engineering safety section, Mr. Lv Hanchuan, director of OST, made a presentation on "Evaluation of the Suitability of Flexible Protection Project", in which Mr. Lv analyzed the effect of flexible protection project on the protection against geohazards , the current unsuitability of flexible protection project and the solutions to the problem to the participants, and introduced the scientific research and technical achievements made by OST. It was unanimously praised by the participants.

OST's reputation in the hydropower industry has been further expanded and the influence has been enhanced through the Forum. In the future, OST will always adhere to the mission of "care for life, guard safety", continue to carry out research on flexible protection technology, improve the level of protection technology, promote engineering applications, and make unremitting efforts to protect people's lives and national property!
