At the invitation by Professor Chen Shaoli from Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of Hong Kong Polytechnic University, OST chairman Lv Hanchuan, along with OST technical advisors -- Southwest Jiaotong University Professor Zhao Shichun, Associate Professor Yu Zhixiang and Dr. Zhao Lei, attended the academic seminar named “Numerical Simulation and Design of Flexible Barrier System against Rockfall and Landslide”. This seminar was joint-organized by Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Hong Kong Institute of Steel Construction. Both sides had fruitful exchange and discussion on the latest research results, current obstacles, and development trend of worldwide and domestic flexible protective structure technologies.

Since the establishment in 2005, OST is always committed to the research , producing, engineering design and construction installation of flexible protective structures, and it has built China’s first rockfall impact test platform in 2011. In recent years, OST keeps ranking first in the market share of flexible protection products in China. It started overseas business in Malaysia, India and other abroad markets recently. OST was involved in preparing flexible protection products standards and it has aroused close attention from domestic and foreign counterparts. In November of 2016, OST assisted Southwest Jiaotong University and Hong Kong Polytechnic University to host "Chengdu - Hong Kong flexible protective structure technology seminar".

This seminar was held on 31st, March, 2017, presided by Professor Chen Shaoli. OST chairman Lv Hanchuan gave an academic report titled "The past, present and future of China's flexible protective structure industry". He analyzed the market size and characteristics , current technical status and developing trend of China's flexible protective structure industry. The technical advisor Professor Zhao Shichun delivered a report entitled "The establishment of technical standard system in China's flexible protective structure filed ", and associate professor Yu Zhixiang made a speech entitled " Key technologies of simulation and design for flexible protective structure ". The participated professors and students had heated discussions on establishment of technical standards, difficulties of numerical simulation technologies and developing trend of this field.  

Chairman Lv Hanchuan was the first Chinese entrepreneur in flexible protective structure industry who stood on the podium of a world famous university , sharing technical innovations and enhancing exchanges among top experts.
