China’s first high speed railway flexible steel structure shed tunnel constructed by OST,  the Xi'an-Chengdu high speed railway Zhifang shed tunnel, was reported by CCTV news at 7pm, 28th Feb, 2017, which aroused huge attention from home and abroad.

It was OST’s another milestone in shed tunnel field after the completion of China’s  flexible steel structure shed tunnel – Lanzhou-Chongqing Railway Fanjiaping project.

Xi'an-Chengdu high speed railway was constructed from Oct. 2012, passing through Qinling mountains. This area is famous for its complicated geological and geomorphic environment and numerous bridges and tunnels. This high speed railway is high-standard and is the most mountainous-characteristics related at present in China. The Zhifang shed tunnel was the first flexible steel structure shed tunnel in China adopted at bridge-tunnel in high speed railway for rockfall protection.

 Compared with the traditional concrete open-cut tunnels, the flexible steel structure shed is light in weight, beautiful in appearance, efficient in energy absorbing, convenient in constructing, sensitive in emergency response and competitive in cost.
