Flexible steel structure shed tunnel on Lanzhou – Chongqing Railway

In the first part of December, the  flexible steel structure shed tunnel in China contracted by OST was completed, which marks OST’S design of flexible steel structure shed tunnel has reached the international advanced level.

This project is the first bridge-tunnel connecting rockfall protection shed tunnel and also the  flexible steel structure shed tunnel in China. Flexible steel structure shed tunnel has the advantages of light weight, aesthetically pleasing, effective energy dissipation, convenient construction, high emergency response capability and high cost performance, etc.. Compared with traditional concrete open tunnel, flexible steel structure shed tunnel has significant economic, technological and environmental advantages.

Since stationed in the construction site in August, the project department of OST had organized several construction technology program conferences to optimize every construction technology. OST allocated mechanical equipment and personnel in aspects of component hoisting, steel column docking, nets laying and hanging, and anti-corrosion, which greatly shortened the time limit for the project and laid a solid foundation for the opening and operation of the Lanzhou-Chongqing Railiway.
